What is the difference between a general information and a trivia?

well' i sort of have this homework in english, and my teacher asked me to give an example of a general information like "the longest mountain is __" (she gave that as an example ) and i found one but its a trivia.. here it is " your brain will stop growing when you reached 15 years old.. is that a general info or trivia?What is the difference between a general information and a trivia?General info, because I thought trivias are suppose to be questions.What is the difference between a general information and a trivia?It's general information, if it's even true.
