Any information on walking dogs in the smoky air from the California wildfires?

Does anyone have any information about the effects on what will happen with the dogs that are walked in this type of unhealthy air?

I have a client that had her vet tell her today that it is ok for the dogs to be out in this. That it does not affect dogs as it does humans. That just doesn't seem right.

And since it will not be clearing up until Sunday, I am just not feeling right about walking outside with my client's babies.Any information on walking dogs in the smoky air from the California wildfires?Yes, short walks, dogs can choke down from smoke faster than humans do, no long walks, just enough time to let them pee and poop and then back in the house please.

and no it does not affect dogs like humans, their lungs can choke down faster than a human......Any information on walking dogs in the smoky air from the California wildfires?i would advise being cautious when walking dogs in the smoke. i live here, and the smoke can harm dogs just as much as people. if you do walk them, make sure that it is not a very long walk, because lengthened exposure would make it worse. but a few short walks couldnt hurt. and i heard that there are supposed to be more thunderstorms, so i dont know if the smoke will clear up that fast, because we might get some more fires. but try to keep dog walking to a minimum, as well as your own exposure to the smoky air.
