No matter how it gets your resume, the company is going to create a profile for you in an internal database.
Personally, I would still prefer e-mailing my resume, however. Unfortunately, old fashioned methods won't protect you. If you get the job, your employer will have more personal information about you than you would put in a resume, and they will store it on their computer system.
